We had the courage to leave and to become economic refugees before we even knew what that meant. Before we called ourselves the diaspora.

We were simply Kenyans from all walks of life, yearning for an education, an opportunity, and a chance to build a life that felt possible and sustainable.

But leaving Kenya never meant leaving her behind.

We send the school fees. Pay the hospital bills. Invest when we can. Step in when there is an emergency. We have carried home from thousands of miles away because Kenya is still home.

Now, let’s have the courage to help build a Kenya our children don’t have to leave.
